This is a VERY special bean and a Tod's Coffee exclusive.  That's right...no other place in the world has these beans!

These are brought to you by my friend in Nicaragua.  He has a large hectare farm in Nicaragua and is one of the largest suppliers to Stumptown and Intelligentsia; however, he also has a small "Private Garden" that he uses to experiment with some different seeds that are brought to him by buyers across the world.  He will only produce one or two bags a year of these experimental beans and usually reserves them for his family.  This year however, he felt they were too good to keep, so we were able to get our hands on them!

What we have here are seeds from plants that have been grown for decades in Ethiopia. My friend takes these seeds and plants them in his Private Garden in Nicaragua.  These Natural Arabian Type Varietal seeds can trace their lineage back to Abyssinia Typica that, at some point years ago, were transplanted to Yemen.  As you can see, these are some very special beans.

Always great beans.

I've gotten several bags of beans from Tod's and they are always perfect. Burundi is some of my favorite, so I was happy to see Tod got some of these beans to roast.

Excellent!

I prefer African coffees and this Burundi is very good. My terminology may be strange, but the best part of this variety is that it still has a nice bite without being strongly acidic. Spicy brown sugar notes fit pretty well as in the description.

Wow. So Good.

It has a touch of lime. Makes for an interesting cup. Was very drinkable and we savored every cup and bean.
